The Enchantress called SDMCET

The sun starts to hide behind one of the many little hillocks that surround SDMCET , waiting to emerge the next morning , allowing me a glimpse of another magnificent sunset. It seems just yesterday that we had set afoot in this campus , memories still razor sharp . The four years have gone like a blitz Krieg and as they say “time indeed flies when you have a good time” , I seriously have not realized when we transcended from first year to final year. While SDMCET is surrounded by scenic beauty , we often forget that it is a beauty in itself . I consider myself lucky to have seen the college, in sunshine and in rain, in daytime and at night, when the wonderful lights make the college seem even more affectionate.

We have often walked across the campus at nights , it is just amazing to feel the silent stillness of the surroundings. Only the gentle cool wind , stirs up the motion of the leaves , leaving a rustling sound like a rythm in itself. The roads are lit up in a shade of yellow , combining with the ancient bricks to give a monochromatic hue to the entire scene making it picturesque. For a second we feel the bliss , only to continue our journey either to the hostel or the college .

We arrived at the college like rough uncut diamonds , raw from the coal mines of PU .It is well known that the true value of the diamond depends on the diamond cutter who polishes it and gives it shape . This college has been like a diamond cutter to me , tenderly guiding , sometimes threatening and rewarding , changing moods only for my benefit . It has given me skill and direction making me ready for the future . To say that SDMCET has equipped me with skill would be an understatement , for it is here that i have met the best of friends , it is here that i have had the most careless yet precious moments of life , it is here that i have learnt compromise , and it is in this campus the magic that makes me smile the moment i enter through the gate beside which is written SDMCET in a language i cannot read .

Life does have strange things planned for us , for I who never had heard of a place called Dharwad and a college called SDMCET , now will forever be able to locate both on a geographical map and a corpuscle in my heart .

I don’t feel like leaving this campus and wonderful place , but i guess we have to look forward and keep progressing for in it lies the happiness of all . And one thing is for sure , we will part with the college on a teary note , and the college like a loving mother will not allow you to stay more than your span here , for it knows what is in your best interest . You may show your tears and she will hide hers only to enable you to go far away so as to follow your dreams and ambitions.

SDMCET has been a generous donor to many , and she wont ask anything back from us , i only hope that some of us do contribute back to it , in any form when we have plenty to give.

I depart seeking my dreams and ambitions , but leaving a small part of my soul here , with the enchantress called SDMCET , which formed a magical bond that cannot be broken but will surely be treasured .
